When it comes to vacationing, more people are looking towards vehicle transport companies to help them out with their car issues. For example, you might remember a time when people wouldn’t think doubly about jumping in the car with their parents to go on lengthy road trips. Back then, these were considered ‘cross country” road trip adventures. You would listen to the radio, sing songs and stop at various land marks to snap pictures. Well, while there are some out there who still engage in these types of activities, the overwhelming majority of folks who are interested in vacationing aren’t quite as interested in racking up those extra miles on their vehicles.

Just making the drive from some place like North Carolina to some place like New York can tack on an additional 600 miles on your car. This is often the case when I drive home to visit my family from out of state. Considering the fact that I travel back and forth to New York quite a bit, it doesn’t take long before I’m adding several thousand miles to my vehicle. For example, when I used to own a brand new car, I put close to 20,000 miles on in the first year of owning it!

Vehicle transport comes in handy for those times when you want to give your car a break but you still want the convenience of having it with you wherever you go. The best example of car shipping in action can be seen whenever you see the snowbirds traveling from New York to Florida. These are the people who are usually in their fifties and up who are retirees and are looking to escape the colder winter weather for a while. Unlike taking a vacation, which can last anywhere from several days to several weeks, snowbirds usually own timeshares or condominiums or second homes in other areas of the country that they spend several months in each year. One of the last things that anyone wants to do is to fly to their final destination only to discover that they need to rent a car.  Could you speculate how much that would cost?!

For this reason, and others, vehicle shipping provides a nice cost effective alternative that allows people to avoid having to deal with traffic, overnight stays in hotels, unexpected roadside emergencies and the like. Instead, they can now hop on a plane and be wherever it is that they have to go in a matter of a couple of hours versus a couple of days.
