The event gains the funding needed for the emergency fleets by hosting events in which businesses and philanthropists donate money and possibly cars to Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties to help volunteers provide assistance to those in need .

Your local chapter may not be in need of emergency vehicles but the decision to donate a car will go a long way towards helping your chapter get the resources it will need especially in the coming months as the occurrence of severe weather is likely to increase. A quick response during an emergency is critical to keeping people safe and Red Cross can be the first on the scene if they have the proper resources to do so . Your donated car may be used to help volunteers deliver aid during an emergency or it the funds from your donated car may be used to purchase other essential emergency materials.
